Der Sportkalender 2015 wies ein neues Format auf: In Baku/Aserbaidshan wurden am 12. Juni 2015 die 1. Europaspiele eröffnet, die von der Vereingung europäischer NOK an die Hauptstadt der Kaukasusrepublik vergeben wurden.
The 1st edition of the European Games has been held. The European Olympic Committee celebrated these games in Azerbaidshan’s capital Baku as main site for the competitions of 6000 athletes. Among them also a German team composed of around 260 participants.
6000 Athleten traten an, darunter auch ein Team aus der Bundesrepublik mit ca. 200 Sportlerinnen und Sportlern.
Die Post legte schon im Vorjahr zwei Blöcke mit den hochmodernen Wettkampfstätten auf.
In 2014 the Post AZERMARKA released two sheets yet with images of the main competition sites – among them the Crystal Hall, known from the Eurovision Song Contest, the Baku Aquatics Centre and the Olympic Stadium, as the latter one is officially named (first sheet).
The second sheet unites the images from the National Stadium, the Tofiq Bahramow Stadium and the National Gymnastics Arena.
Es folgten 2015 weitere fünf mit den Sportarten.
In 2015 further five sheetlets with sports disciplines have been issued.
